Annotation:

The article presents a theoretical analysis of psychological features involved in the formation of tactical actions in 11–12-year-old hockey players at the stage of advanced sports training. The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that at this age a player moves from situational reproduction of game techniques to a more meaningful choice of action based on the development of attention, operational thinking, anticipation and self-regulation.

The purpose of the article is to justify the psychological content of tactical action, identify age-related prerequisites for its formation and systematize training tools that are most productive for developing game thinking. The material included publications on hockey theory and methods, sport psychology and developmental psychology.

Methods and organization of the research.  The methods used were theoretical analysis, comparison, systematization and content modeling.

Research results. The results show that tactical action should be understood as a unity of situational perception, rapid analysis, forecasting, decision-making and its implementation in interaction with partners. Age characteristics of 11–12-year-old hockey players that affect tactical training are described, and methods that combine technical instruction with the development of attention, self-regulation and game thinking are identified.

Conclusion. The practical value of the article lies in the possibility of using these provisions as a foundation for the subsequent empirical stage of the dissertation study.
