This article examines the physical fitness of student-athletes specializing in boxing, based on cardiovascular and respiratory system performance. It was found that during their studies at higher education institutions, the simultaneous exposure to mental and physical stress causes specific morphological and functional changes in the students' bodies. Timely recovery is crucial. A systematic approach made it possible to assess the intensity of physical activity in students of varying levels of training, ages, and weight categories. The study involved student boxers aged 18–20. During training sessions with varying intensity, changes in the cardiovascular and respiratory systems were recorded and analyzed, enabling the athletes' health to be monitored.

The purpose. Evaluation of physical fitness of student boxers during a long-term training process based on cardiovascular and respiratory system indicators.

Methods and organization of the research: The study was conducted among student boxers studying at the Sports Academy, using morphometry, spirometry, sphygmomanometry, and pulse ometry. The data obtained were statistically analyzed using the Student's t-test.

Results and discussion: The study found that training sessions contributed to improvements in overall and strength endurance, the Skibinsky index, and cardiovascular and respiratory function. The changes identified were adaptive in nature and within physiological norms.

Conclusion. Systematic boxing training and the inclusion of aerobic exercise have a positive impact on the physical fitness, functional state, and health of student boxers. Monitoring functional indicators allows for the optimization of training and the reduction of the risk of overtraining.
