The purpose of this study is to analyze the opening and closing ceremonies of the XXV Olympic Winter Games 2026 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo based on the author's conceptual framework "cultural code in sport," its functions, types, and categories.
Methods and Organization of the Study. The author's conceptual framework "cultural code in sport," its functions, types, and categories, was used to analyze the opening and closing ceremonies. A distinctive feature of this study is the choice of the analyzed event: the ceremonies of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games.
Results and Discussion. The authors analyzed and systematized the components of the cultural code of the protocol and artistic portions of the opening and closing ceremonies of the XXV Olympic Winter Games 2026 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. The results are systematized and presented in tables. The analysis revealed a tendency to refer to character, aesthetic, and architectural cultural codes in most episodes of the program.
Conclusion. This analysis revealed specific aspects of the application of cultural codes in sport during the opening and closing ceremonies of the 25th Olympic Winter Games 2026 in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
