Article
The purpose. To identify and characterize the main periods in the formation and development of acrobatic rock’n’roll as a sport and the stages in the scientific elaboration of the problem of managing the individualization of athletes’ training.
Methods of the research. Historiographical and historical‑logical methods were applied. Content analysis was used to process texts of scientific and regulatory sources within the time frame from 1995 to March 2026.
Results and discussion. Six periods in the formation and development of acrobatic rock’n’roll have been identified – from the club movement of the 1950s to the renewal of the regulatory framework in 2025 – as well as four stages in the scientific development of the issue of managing individualized training: from the first methodological foundations (mid‑1990s–2012), through analyses of competitive activity (2013-2017) and the construction of model characteristics of technique and athletes’ anthropometric profiles (2018-2021), to the current stage (from 2022 to the present). It is shown that the process of formation and development of acrobatic rock’n’roll as a sport has been consistently accompanied by an increased complexity of the acrobatic component, higher demands on technical precision, and an intensification of the training process, which has progressively sharpened the demand for scientific justification of managing individualized training.
Conclusion. The main results of the study consist in distinguishing the periods of development of acrobatic rock’n’roll as a sport and the stages of scientific and methodological elaboration of the problem of managing individualized training, as well as in clarifying the place of the current state of acrobatic rock’n’roll. It has been established that, despite the accumulation of empirical data on technique and on athletes’ anthropometric and psychophysiological characteristics, models for managing individualized training based on monitoring objective markers of state that reflect the interrelation of mental and functional components have not yet been developed. It is concluded that further research is needed, aimed at creating such models and specifying the pedagogical tools for individualized training in acrobatic rock’n’roll.
