The purpose of the research: to substantiate the possibility of using pedagogical kinesiological analysis for the purpose of determining the content of physical (strength) training tools when teaching sports gymnasts an element, performed with a large forward swing with a 540° turn on parallel bars of different heights.

Methods and organization of the research. The main research method was video analysis, using which a gymnastics element, performed with a large forward swing with a 540° turn on parallel bars of different heights was assessed in 25 of the world's leading athletes.

Research results and their discussion. During the pedagogical biomechanical video analysis, the phase structure and composition of movements that form the basis of the gymnastic element were clarified, the joints and the nature of their movements within it were described, and the leading muscle groups and their modes of operation in each phase of the exercise were identified.

Conclusion. The algorithm for applying pedagogical biomechanical analysis allows us to justify the selection of strength exercises based on the criterion of biomechanical and morphological similarity, aimed at teaching the element performed by a large forward swing with a 540° turn on bars of different heights.
