Article
Purpose of the study. To experimentally substantiate the effectiveness of the author's methodology for improving the starting movement of qualified arm wrestlers.
Methods. The study involved 14 highly qualified female arm wrestlers (Candidate Masters of Sport and Masters of Sport), divided into a control group (CG, n=7) and an experimental group (EG, n=7). The duration of the pedagogical experiment was 12 weeks. The following tests were used: simple visual-motor reaction time (SVMR), Wingate test, dynamometry of traction force in the starting movement, and three specific physical fitness (SPF) tests. Statistical analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon T-test and the Mann–Whitney U-test.
Results. The experimental group showed significant improvement in all parameters: SVMR time decreased by 4.2% (p<0.05), peak power increased by 7.6% (p<0.01), traction force increased by 13.2% (p<0.01), and SPF tests improved by 18–26% (p<0.01). No significant changes were found in the control group (p>0.05). Intergroup differences after the experiment were highly significant (p<0.01).
Conclusion. The developed methodology, integrating blocks for developing explosive strength, reaction speed and biomechanical correction, has proved its effectiveness and can be recommended for the training of qualified arm wrestlers.
