Research purpose: to determine quantitative indicators of the morphological and functional state of firefighters from among the personnel of the federal fire service in the Krasnodar Territory.

Research methods. The study involved 61 males of the first mature age from among the personnel of the 12th detachment of the federal fire service in the Krasnodar Territory. The assessment of the level of morphological characteristics was carried out by anthropometric measurements: length, weight and girth dimensions of the body, the size of skin and fat folds, the diameters of the distal parts of the body. The functional parameters of the cardiorespiratory system were assessed based on heart rate, blood pressure, and vital lung capacity. The results  were processed using mathematical statistics. The reliability of the differences in the obtained parameters was determined by Student’s t-test.

Results of the research and their discussion. In men of group 1 (22-24 years old), body weight and girth indicators were significantly lower than those studied in groups 2 (25-29 years old) and 3 (30-35 years old). Functional indicators: vital capacity of the lungs (VC) demonstrates that the highest indicator is found in firefighters of group 1, and men of groups 2 and 3 have significantly lower results.
When analyzing a number of functional indicators of the cardiovascular system in firefighters, it was revealed that the heart rate (HR) in group 1 was significantly lower when compared with groups 2 and 3. The values of systolic blood pressure in men of groups 2 and 3 were significantly (p < 0.05) increased compared to firefighters of group 1. An increase in diastolic pressure was observed only in group 3.

Conclusion. To ensure an optimal level of physical fitness and increase the work efficiency of firefighters of the first mature age, it is necessary to optimize the professional-applied physical training program, considering individual morphological and functional indicators.
